KuroTsuki Solstice Exchange
About
The KuroTsuki Solstice Exchange is all about celebrating the love between Kuroo Tetsurou and Tsukishima Kei all year round! We plan to host two exchanges per year, one for the Midsummer Solstice and one for the Midwinter Solstice. In between the two solstice events, we also hope to host two prompt weeks for the Spring Equinox and Autumn Equinox. While we understand that the seasons are not the same around the world, we ultimately decided to follow the seasons as they change in Japan since that’s where Haikyuu takes place. So, the Midsummer Solstice will be celebrated in June with the Summer Solstice Exchange and the Midwinter Solstice will be celebrated in December with the Winter Solstice Exchange. We'll have the same carrd and twitter page for both solstice events, so you can always check this page for the latest updates! For additional information, please visit our informational packet.

Rules — FAQs Style
- Are minors allowed?
This event is minor free. The mods don't feel comfortable being responsible for monitoring contact between adults and teenagers.
- Do we have to turn in a completed piece?
Yes, you must turn in a completed piece (if it’s multi-chaptered, that means all the chapters) by the assigned deadline.- Are "dead dove" or NSFW gifts allowed in this event if both the giftee and gifter are comfortable and consenting?
Since minors aren't allowed, we will be allowing "dead dove" and NSFW/E-rated gifts in this event. If you're unsure about if your piece counts as NSFW/E-rated, we will be using AO3's rating guidelines as our baseline for ratings in this exchange.- Does the "summer" solstice exchange piece have to be summer themed?
No, it does not. The main thing is to give your giftee a piece that they will enjoy based off of their prompts!- Am I required to create a brand new piece for the Solstice Exchange?
Yes. However, since an exchange is about creating something special for another member of the fandom, you should try to make something new based on their prompts.- What if I have a WIP that is similar to my giftee's prompt?
If your WIP hasn't been shared or teased on social media (e.g., Twitter, Tumblr, Discord, TikTok, Instagram, etc.), then that is okay to use as a base for your exchange piece. However, you will still have to cater to your giftee's prompt and give the final piece to them as a gift.- Do I have to join the event discord server?
At this time, we are requiring participants to join the Discord so that they can communicate with their creation teams and stay up to date with event announcements. We will be sending out the check-ins through both email and Discord.- Do I have to have an AO3 account to participate in this event?
At this time, we are requiring all participants have an AO3 account so that we can use their matching system. This will make matching easier and quicker as well allow artists to be the first to share their piece rather than the event account. Those do not have an AO3 account will be able to request an invitation link to create one from the mods. Please send us a DM on twitter or reach out on Discord.- Can I discuss my exchange pieces outside of my team or post it early?
No. Part of the fun of the exchange is not knowing what your gift will be! If you talk about your gift outside of the exchange or post it early, you could spoil your giftee's surprise and that wouldn't be very fun for them.- Is there a minimum word count for writers? Is there a minimum art requirement for artists (E.g., Are sketches ok? Or do they have to have a background or be fully rendered?)
The majority of participants in our interest check wanted a minimum requirement, so we will be having a 2k minimum word count for writers and a simple background and flat colour minimum for artists. This is also currently being polled in our interest check.

Meet our mods: Iseul, Kate, Lucy, Meg, and Summer!
Iseul — 28, she/her, GMT -6
Hiya howdy! My name is Iseul_i (on social media) but I also go by Ash! I first fell in love with hq in 2018 or so but joined the fandom more recently and have really enjoyed the community and all of the wonderful fanworks! I love so many ships (and a fair share of rare pairs.) IwaOi is OTP, followed by BokuAka and KuroTsuki. My favorite hq rarepair is OiSuga. It started with one fic and then...chaos.A Krtsk headcanon that makes me laugh is Kuroo went blond once, mostly to troll Tsukki. Tsukki said it looked dumb but he just...? Couldn't keep his hands off of his boyfriend? Needless to say, Kuroo had to dye his hair back to black for the sake of productivity.Kate — 29, she/her, GMT -8
You may know me as "chaloupe" on AO3 and Discord, or "mercrediad" on Twitter. My HQ first ship was KenHina, but I quickly grew to love KuroTsuki. Today, I consider myself a multi-shipper, but KuroTsuki remains one of my main OTPs (alongside IwaOi).A KuroTsuki headcanon that makes me laugh is that after KuroTsuki start dating, Tsukki and Kenma (introverted menaces that they are) become best friends who roast Kuroo together. This is extremely distressing for Kuroo who is just trying to live his life, thank you very much. So, Kuroo befriends Yamaguchi and digs up all kinds of hilarious dirt on Tsukki. They eventually call a truce, but Tsukki and Kenma still have their hang-outs, and Kuroo and Yamaguchi still go on friendship dates. (Tsukki and Kenma think that calling them "friendship dates" is cringe.)Lucy — 25, she/her, GMT +0
Hi, my name is Lucy. I first fell into the hq fandom in late 2017. The first ship I liked in hq was KageHina, but the minute Kuroo and Tsukki met they stole my heart. (Their dynamic is gold!)A Krtsk headcanon that makes me laugh is that Kuroo and Kei both will literally drop whatever they were doing and do whatever it takes to win a free item that they know the other likes. Pass by an all-you-can-eat challenge where a strawberry shortcake is the prize? They're in. Play a game where there's a ticket for a free meal for 2 in Kuroo's favourite restaurant? Kei will play and even call in the idiot duo as back up.Mod Meg - 38, she/her, GMT-6
Hello 👋🏻 everyone! You can find me as Megoomies onTwitter and TotoroPirate(megoomies) on AO3I love Haikyuu and Kurotsuki gives me so much joy. I started watching the anime during the pandemic and Tsukishima was my favorite from the beginning.. Kurotsuki has taken over my life.My favorite Krtsk HC is that they bond over nerdy things. All their friends know they’re a perfect match even tho they’re so different from each other.Mod Summer - 26, she/they, UTC -5
Hi everyone! I’m Summer, found on AO3 and Twitter as MsAFK.I started in the HQ fandom about early 2020? I first ship into the fandom was SKTS, still love them dearly but branching out is so much fun! I thank a lot of my close friends for KurooTsukki!!One of my favorite KurooTsukki hc is how Kuroo would always call Tsukki his little frogs (I might be bias because I love frogs!)
